Our groups civilization is the Chavin. They were created around 900 B.C in the Andes Mountains in Peru. The people in the civilization lived in narrow valleys formed by rivers that flowed the peaks to the desert floor. The Chavin were were here until about 200 B.C. It is the ruins of the Chavin that give this civilization its name. The Chavin were very great artists, they made elaborate textiles, pottery, and stone carvings. They are most famous for their art. Some people belived that the Chaven worshiped jaguars because they painted them so much. Before the Chaven, there were many other cultures in the reigon. The Chaven culture unified these people. Around 200 B.C the Chaven style suddenly was gone. Nobody ever knew where they went and why. How ever they did leave their beautiful art there. Geography:
